The following represents a list of recent articles/seeds that have to do with Mitt Romney and racism.  I provided the links though there is really no need to go beyond the headlines – the titles are about as substantive as it gets. (The list is a small sampling – I merely did a keyword search of “Romney” and “racist” and provided much of what I effortlessly found just on the first few pages of my search results)

Racism in 2012 has become the lefts new ‘Boy Who Cried Wolf’ campaign.  Obama supporters on sites like this fling accusations of racism every which way but loose, doing their readers a service by exposing racism where not even the targets in the pieces had any idea it existed. 

To be fair to the entire Newsvine leftwing, a good portion of these findings are from the same two or three Viners.  Someone should have sent them the memo that says that Barack Obama now has a record to run on – empty charges of racism don’t work now.  You can’t browbeat voters into white guilt anymore. 

In 2008 a majority of white voters supported Obama for president, including many who traditionally have not been voting Democrat.  Obama supporters don’t see the hypocrisy in badgering people to vote for Obama lest they be labeled ‘racists’.  One can oppose a specific policy or even worldview of Democrat politics but voting on those beliefs is coded in racism.  However, voting for Obama because his thugs harass you into doing so is not racist at all.

I have deep opposition to many Democrat policies.  I would vote against those policies regardless if the person supporting or promoting them is Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Al Gore et al.  As the saying goes, I would eagerly and enthusiastically vote for a black conservative over a white liberal.

Regardless, here is one little tidbit that shouldn’t be lost on you all.  While empty cries of “racism” may excite a small handful of leftwing loyalists on the internet, you stand more to turn off the fence sitters and independents who aren’t quite sure on Obama.  They know he’s had a rough first term, they know he supports policies that they don’t…but they still like him and think maybe he could turn it around.  And then they read something that forces them to ask themselves:  I support or oppose that policy – why are they calling me a racist? 

The bottom line is that there are some things that fall beyond the realm of decency in political discourse.  We don’t compare politicians to Hitler; we don’t compare events to the Holocaust; we don’t elevate every victim in America to the level of slavery and Jim Crow.  We avoid these things not merely because they are universally offensive but because it diminishes the true evil that was behind it.

But tell that to a far left Obama supporter.  Democrats have exploited race since the beginning of the Republic and even now, when they have (purchased) vast majorities of minority support, they still exploit race for political gain.  And since Republican efforts for the past 150 years have undone many of the wrongs put upon blacks in America, Democrats now have to manufacture racism in order to exploit race.

Obama’s election in 2008 was suppose to be a healing action, a unifying feat for this country, a chance to mend divisions.  Instead, we have racism.  Not necessarily more actual racism (and by this, I mean the drive by comments by idiots who want to theorize about Obama’s ethnic and religious background) but the propagation of racism by those who shamelessly yield it as a cheap political tool.  This kind of empty-headed chatter instills a constant drumbeat of distrust between people and makes many of us wonder, 'why didn't we at least get racial atonement after Obama's election?'. 

Racism is a dominant theme in today's politics solely because the fringe wing of the Democrat Party believes it is the only way to win at the polls.
